Ingrid T. (Krieger) Coiffard, 84, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, Dec. 2, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.

Ingrid was born Nov. 26, 1940, in Danzig, Germany, to the late Georg Ambrosius and Gertrud Elisabeth (Stanischewski) Krieger.

Ingrid married her late husband Marc Coiffard on May 15, 1964, in Germany and moved to America in April of 1965. She was very proud of her German heritage. Ingrid graduated from Kiel Germany in 1958. She was employed as a retail selling specialist at J.C. Penney, retail sales clerk at Caryl Crane Women's Shop, Clinique counter at Macy's, a physical fitness instructor at YMCA, fashion model for Sears Roebuck & Co and Sawmill Creek and an exercise instructor at Elaine Powers Figure Salon. She also taught ballet in America, Germany, and France and assisted her husband, Marc, in coaching soccer for the Bay Area Soccer League in its early years. Ingrid was an auxiliary board member at Firelands Regional Medical Center and St. Mary's Catholic Church. Ingrid enjoyed ballet, theatre, musicals and loved animals. She was well loved by all.

Ingrid is survived by her two sons, Gerard (Dawn) Coiffard of Newport, Michigan and Patrick (Amy Ruthsatz) Coiffard of Sandusky; grandchildren, Christine (Chance), Natalie (Ryan), Nicholas, Jessica, Nicole, Jay, Alexa, Anthony and Malayna; great-grandchildren, Layla, Royce, Jaiden, Jordyn, Douglas and Arianna; close friend, Peggy Poock and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Ingrid is preceded in death by her husband, Marc Laurent Coiffard in 2019; and granddaughter, Nicole.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, with Pastor Wally Gilbert presiding. Burial will be at a later date at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
