Jacquelyn Hicks Obituary

Jacquelyn D. "Dee" Hicks

Oct 11, 1957 - Aug 17, 2024

Sandusky

Jacquelyn Diane "Dee" Hicks, 66, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, at University Hospital Cleveland.

She was born Oct. 11, 1957, the daughter of Jack E. Hicks and Alexine (Wilson) C. Hicks of Sandusky. Jackie graduated from Sandusky High School in 1976. She then went away to Davis college for a business degree and came back to Sandusky where she worked as a Post Office Clerk for 30 years until her retirement.

She was a loving caring woman to her family and friends and especially her kids and grandchildren who she enjoyed being with every second she could. Dee loved the Lord and would always encourage her family. She always had a smile on her face when she greeted people and had a big giving heart. Dee enjoyed cooking, crocheting, her game shows, gardening, her virtual games, sitting on her porch, and being by the water.

Dee leaves behind her daughters, April (Josiah) Stowers and Erin (Robert) Olvera; grandchildren, Jaryn, Morgan, London Stowers, Aryanna Hicks, Alisia, Luke, and unborn baby Aaliyah Olvera; siblings, Connie Beverly, Deborah (Donald) Robinson, and Terry (Brenda) Hicks; nieces and nephews, Demond, Jason, Alexis, and Tanesha Hicks, Nadia (Michael) Ivory, Ciara, Cevon Martin, and Charles Philon; and a host of other great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Thurston and Leona Hicks; aunt, Willie Mae Wilson; brothers, Rodney, and Daryl Hicks in infancy; niece, Dawn Philon; special aunt, Dorothy Farrar; and loving companion and puppy, Prada.

Visitation for friends will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024, until the time of Dee's celebration of life at 4 p.m. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Josiah Brown will officiate.

My deepest condolences to the family. I worked with her Mother at Providence Hospital & graduated with her sister Connie from SHS. Such a wonderful family.

So heartbreaking to hear about Jackie's passing. I worked with her at the Post Office, and she was so kind and very very sweet, and quite lovely. I was fortunate to run into her at a few local events in Sandusky, and feel sad that I won't in the near future. My sympathy to her family, especially her lovely daughters and their families.

I am saddened by Dee´s death. I worked with her mom Alex at Adam´s Junior High for many years. Alex loved her kids and grandkids more than anything in the world. She was a true friends of mine. Rest in Peace Dee and tell that sweet mama of yours that I miss her every day.
