James J. "Jim" Manion

James J. "Jim" Manion, 63, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at Firelands Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 11, 1959, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of the late John and Margaret (Musico) Manion.

Jim grew up in Clifton Park, New York, graduating from Shenendehowa High School in 1978. He attended Ashland University. Jim worked for The Cleveland Press before moving to Sandusky, where he and his wife raised their family and became owners and operators of The Donut Shop for many years. He later worked and eventually retired from Roma Imports, Clifton Park, and spent the last couple of years in Sandusky. He loved spending time with his family, was an avid skier, and loved cheering on Pittsburgh Steelers.

Jim is survived by his wife of 40 years, Donna (Singley) Manion; sons, Mitchell Manion and Scott (Abbey) Manion, both of Sandusky; daughter, Rachel Manion of Buffalo, New York; grandchildren, Ellie, Maxwell, Liam, Hugo, and Freya Manion; and sisters, Terri (Mike) Bleile of Huron, and Kathleen (Teddy) Pirkel and Marcy Manion, both of Sandusky.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

It was his wish to be cremated. Private family services will take place.
