Sandusky

Jane A. (Hayes) Bellamy, 80, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, September 11, 2025, at Parkvue Health Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.

Born June 25, 1945, in Toledo, the daughter of Edward James and Ethel Mae (Crane) Hayes. She was a 1963 graduate of St. Mary's High School and later became a registered nurse, having graduated in 1965 from St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in Toledo. Jane had worked as a registered nurse at Ohio Veterans Home for many years, retiring in 2009.

She enjoyed reading, sewing (especially clothes for her family), and cross-stitching, but she especially loved spending time with the family and attending her grandchildren's sporting events over the years.

Jane was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard G. Bellamy Sr., whom she married August 6, 1966; her three sons, Richard G. (Denise) Bellamy Jr., Stephen and Robert Bellamy; a daughter, Barbara A. (Robert) Rhoads, all of Sandusky; her five grandchildren, Kyle (Jackie) Bellamy, Kody (Tracey) Bellamy, Korri (Brandon) Brown, Colin Bellamy and Brittney Rhoads; her five great-grandchildren, Zane, Charlie, Harper, Amelia and Lawson; a sister, Carolyn Craig of Oregon, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Brooke Rhoads; and a brother, Frank Hayes.

It was Jane's wish to be cremated. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2025, at David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday morning, September 19, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Chris Turner officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Calvary Cemetery Columbarium, Sandusky.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Make A Wish, 6060 Rockside Woods Blvd N, # 315, Independence, OH 44131.
