Jane R. Nagel, 78, of Sandusky, passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 17, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Jan. 31, 1945, in Sandusky, to Milton and Ida Mae (Scheufler) Link.
Jane was a 1963 graduate of Sandusky High School and obtained her Nursing Certificate. She was a LPN at the former Good Samaritan Hospital. Jane worked as a teacher's aide for 29 years at Venice Heights Elementary School. Being around and helping out the students brought her much joy. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, cooking, and traveling to Amish Country or Catawba Island, where she relished eating at Der Dutchman or Netty's hotdogs. Jane loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Kenneth D. Nagel, whom she married Sept. 18, 1964; son, Christopher (Jennifer) Nagel; three grandchildren, Brandon, Leah, and Alyssa; brother, Leroy (April) Link; sister-in-law, Jeanne Heaton; dear friend, Mary Jo Martin; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Loris (Larry) Corso.
Visitation for friends will be 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2023, until the time of Jane's memorial service at 5 p.m. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, Ohio, 44870.
Memorial contributions in Jane's name may be made to The Sandusky Library or Sandusky City Schools.
