My name is Hiro Uryu and I am a SGI member. I am writing to express my deepest condolences to you for your loss.
I met Jane when I moved from Philadelphia in 2008 and joined her group in the upper east side. It was my great honor and pleasure to get to know her. I have wonderful memories of her through SGI Buddhist activities. I truly admired her gentle and caring spirit to know what is right and what action. She kindly reached out to her neighbors and friends and by doing so expanded a wonderful friendship.
Nichiren writes "Think of those thousand Buddhas extending their hands to all of Nichiren´s disciples and lay supporters who chant
Nam-myoho-renge-kyo as melons or moonflowers extending their slender vines. My followers are now able to accept and uphold the
Lotus Sutra because of the strong ties they formed with it in their past existences. They are certain to obtain the fruit of Buddhahood in the future. The heritage of the Lotus Sutra flows within the lives of those who never forsake it in any lifetime whatsoever-whether in the past, the present, or the future." I am so certain that she was happily finished her mission of this lifetime and now must be happy looking over you and us and wanting an opportunity to come back to our Saha world again.
I am pleased that she was surrounded by good friends. I can say that all of the SGI members in this local community will miss her bright face and big heart. We all send her prayers with big appreciation. I am so sure that she is watching over us with a big smile.

See you next time Jane. I am sure you will return quickly to help your fellow Buddhists, including me, keep working for world peace. As Daisaku Ikeda said, we do not die for nothing. We die to begin a new life.
My sincere sympathies to Jane´s family for the loss of a great soul. But you will see her again too.

I too practiced Buddhism with Jane in New York City for many years. She attended my wedding and watched my daughter grow up. Jane always got such a kick out of Jazmin.
Jane was kind hearted and sincere and I am convinced that she fulfilled her mission in this lifetime. She will be missed. My deepest condolences to the family.

I was a friend and practiced Buddhism with Jane and in New York City. She was a valuable member of our group. Someone you could always count on. I will miss her very much. I would appreciate it if a member of her family would contact me and accept my sincere condolences.
