Janet I. Dupont, 87, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born March 1, 1938, in Pennsylvania, and a graduate of Meyersdale High School in Pennsylvania. She married her high school sweetheart and moved to the Sandusky/Castalia area in the late 1950s. Janet was a hard worker, and in her early years, she worked for Barr Rubber and the Ford Plant. She will be fondly remembered for her many years of service with Margaretta Local School system. Her sweet smile and kindness left a lasting impression on anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. She was proud of her family and enjoyed being a mom to her five children. She especially lit up when the grandkids would visit.

Janet was a member of Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene, where she was a Sunday school teacher for several years. She enjoyed doing puzzles.

She is survived by her four children, Joseph (Carla) Dupont, Kathy "Sue" (Tony) Westgate, Carol (Bruce) Spring, and William (Joyce) Dupont; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jane Bittner and JoAnn Mankemayer; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Dupont, in 1994; her daughter, Teresa Wilson, in 2016; her parents, Hiram and Edna (Miller) Walker; one brother and one sister.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene, 1617 Milan Road, Sandusky. Pastor Keith Martinez will officiate. Burial will be at Castalia Cemetery.
