Janet M. Hime, 75, of Huron, peacefully entered eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, after a brief illness.

She was born Sept. 12, 1947, in Sandusky, and was a 1965 graduate of Perkins High School. She attended Columbus Business University. She worked at The Ohio State University English Department, Macomb County (Michigan) Intermediate School District, Educational Tours, and Frank Hamilton and Associates. She then partnered with her husband, Dave, in operating Student Travel Associates, Inc. She later had the joy of being a piano teacher for 20 years.

Jan was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church for 40 years where she played the organ and piano, sang in the choir, and served in various other ministries. She was a volunteer for Heartbeat Pregnancy Center of Sandusky and vice president of Erie County Right to Life. She enjoyed reading, history, and collecting antiques. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family, who were the loves of her life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, David Hime; two daughters, MeriKim Hime and Kristen (David Landals) Hime, both of Chicago, Illinois; sisters, Peg (Charles) Kingsley of Huron and Ruth (Jay) Strohl of Mason, Michigan; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Margaret (Hart) Lindsley.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at Pfeil Funeral Home, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Janet's funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1810 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky. Pastor David Hixson and Pastor Peter Dodd will officiate. Burial will follow at Scott Union Cemetery on Huron Avery and East Scheid Roads.
