Janet M. Kuss, 82, of Fremont, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 1, 2025. Born November 23, 1942, to Benjamin and Wilma Emerson, Janet dedicated her life to caring for others through her nursing career and her devotion to her family.
A graduate of Clyde High School and St. Vincent School of Nursing in Toledo, she worked in healthcare for over 50 years, retiring after 25 years with Sandusky County Home Health Care. Janet was known for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering support of everyone around her.
She married Thomas Kuss on January 9, 1965, and together they built a loving family. Janet cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren, always putting family first.
She is survived by her husband, Tom; her children, Carol (Scott) Wymer, Bob (Sue) Kuss, and Jennifer (Larry) Pressley; her grandchildren, Benjamin Wymer, Michael Kuss, and Katherine Kuss; and her sister, Emily Smathers. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Rose Marie Hill.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Auxter-Recker Funeral Home in Clyde. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Clyde, with burial and luncheon to follow at the church cemetery and hall.
