Janis Irene George, 50, of Norwalk, was surrounded by her loved ones at Cleveland Clinic when she entered into heavenly rest Monday, August 25, 2025, after a period of illness. Janis was born October 19, 1974, in Norwalk, to Carol (Flatt) George and the late Reverend Roger George. Janis graduated from Norwalk High School and later, Cincinnati Bible College.

A kind and loving soul, Janis was a devout Christian who loved her family and enjoyed listening to music and singing in the church choir. She attended The Chapel (Norwalk Campus) and spent more than two decades as a direct support professional for Renaissance House. Her coworkers at Renaissance House remember Janis for her bright smile, passion, dedication, and faith. She was dedicated to her role and found joy in working with her clients.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Anna George of Bellevue; mother, Carol George; brother, James (Kimberly) George of Bellevue; sister, Joyce George of Norwalk; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was a dedicated mother to Anna, whom she loved more than anything. Like all who knew Janis, Anna will miss her mother's warmth, compassion, and care for others.

Janis's visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2025, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Friends and family can also visit from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the funeral home.

Funeral service for Janis will begin at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
