Jean Marie (Risdon) Bauer, 79, of Sandusky, passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, at Stein Hospice Care Center.

She was born Oct. 4, 1944, in Lorain, to Glenn and Pearl (Klucas) Risdon.

Jean graduated from Marion L. Steele High School in 1963. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her husband, Richard Bauer Sr., whom she married Aug. 14,1965; daughters, Pearl and Carol Bauer, Noel (Shannon) Steel, and Hazel Bauer; son, Richard (Barbara) Bauer Jr.; seven grandchildren, Faith (Adam) Steel, Michael (Heather) Steel, Shannon Steel, Maddie (Nick) Sosa, Austin and Adrianna Singer, and Eliza Bauer; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Stuckey and Lucille Blake; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sherry Bauer; and brothers in infancy, Tommy and Jimmy.

Per Jean's request, cremation will take place and there will be no public services. Burial will be at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.

Those wishing to contribute to Jean's memory may do so to Florence Congregational Church or Epilepsy Foundation.
