Jean Keller Obituary

Jean M. Keller

Aug 6, 1932 - Apr 27, 2025

Norwalk

Jean M. (Bertsch) Keller, 92, died peacefully Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Stein Hospice.

Jean was born August 6, 1932, in Bellevue and was a lifelong Bellevue and Norwalk area resident. After her school years at Thompson in Bellevue, Jean worked at the General Electric plant in Bellevue and was a secretary/bookkeeper for her husband's two businesses, The Bellevue and Norwalk Music Centers. Jean was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Norwalk, a volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul Society, and was a member of Bellevue Four County Young-at-Heart, and Norwalk Senior Center.

Jean met her husband, Emerson, at a dance studio. The two loved music and were great singers and dancers, and they enjoyed playing euchre and pinochle. Their social time was spent together; they valued their time with family, faith, and friends. Jean was a feisty, strong-willed woman who had impeccable style and grace. Her faith was central in her life; she had a special devotion to our Blessed Lady.

Emerson and Jean were married May 30, 1953, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Marywood. They have three daughters and sons-in-law, Danny and Denise Missler of Norwalk, Steve and Jolene Mills of Sandusky, and Bob and Lisa Schlabig of Westerville; six grandchildren, Jared and Brianna Missler, Alex and Natalie Mills, and Meredith (Phil) Irvine, and Brennan (Natalie) Schlabig; as well as two great-grandchildren, Lucy Irvine and Josie Schlabig. She is also survived by sisters, Betty (Tom) Adelman and Anita Bertsch.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson, in 2009; her parents, Albert and Hilda (Brown) Bertsch; sisters, Mary Ann (Paul) Ott, Theresa (Pete) Schafer, and Rita Bertsch.
