Jeffrey Gregory Obituary

Jeffrey Allen "Jeff" Gregory

Apr 1, 2024

Avon

In loving memory of Jeffrey Allen "Jeff" Gregory, 59, a devoted husband, father, and brother, who passed away the morning of Monday, April 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family after bravely battling cancer.

He graduated from Elyria High School in 1983 and was a proud defensive lineman for the Pioneers. One of Jeff's proudest accomplishments was serving as an owner of Jamie's Carpet Shop in Sandusky for over 30 years where he tirelessly provided beautiful flooring to many.

Outside of work, Jeff was a devoted fan of Cleveland sports, Ohio State football (and proud of his daughter Kayla for becoming a Buckeye!), drag racing, and a night at the Jack Casino with friends.

Jeff's greatest source of happiness was his family. He shared a 33-year long marriage to his wife, Theresa M. (nee Ault), and together they created a lifetime of memories. Their children, Joshua, Marissa, and Kayla were the light of his life and he took immense pride in their accomplishments.

Jeffrey is also survived by his siblings, Jimmie "Clayton" (Susan) Gregory Jr., Robin (Joseph) Dedek, Scott (Tammy) Gregory, and John D. Gregory; mother-in-law, Patricia Ault; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie C. Sr. and Janet P. (nee King) Gregory; and father-in-law, Thomas Ault.

Visitation for family and friends will be 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, and 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024, until the time of Jeff's service at 10:30 a.m., all at MISENCIK FUNERAL HOME, 36363 Detroit Rd., Avon.

Interment will be at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.

Memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (https://www.lls.org/lymphoma).

Jeff was an amazing man, who was taken far too soon, but no longer suffers. Jeff has been in my prayers from the time I learned of his condition.

Memories are so precious at times like these. They lead you to places in time, a link to the past. To years gone by oh so fast.

My prayers are with you all.

Robin, Jeff's sister, is a dear friend of mine. Her brother Jeff was totally into cars! Just like my older brother, Mitch, who graduated the same year as Jeff from Elyria High School. As big brothers do, Jeff drove Robin and I to some school event, jamming "Crazy Train" by Ozzy! I was blown away! When I asked him if he preferred Ford over Chevy? Well .. it was Ford, hands down! We were riding in his Ford Mustang! Jeff was the sweetest big brother anyone could ask for, and I know he loved Robin!
