Jerold "Jerry" D. Leibacher, Castalia, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025, at his residence.
He was born January 23, 1941, in Sandusky, to the late William and Irene (Behrensen) Leibacher.
He was a graduate of Sandusky High School and was a member of the U.S. National Guard.
He was employed by the former New Departure Hyatt for 30 years and worked as a janitor for Margaretta School District for 10 years.
Jerry loved fishing, bird-watching, being outdoors, visiting Pelee Island, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rebecca (McCormick) Leibacher; daughters, Kelly Crabtree and Victoria Leibacher; son, Chris (Amy) Leibacher; grandchildren, Matthew, Mikayla, Cole, Jilienne, Nick, Jake, and Kylie; great-grandchildren, Karson and Emmitt; close friends, Bill Ray, Randy Roth, Dave Forney, Steve Miller, Pete McMahon, and Tim Manuella.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Bryce Crabtree; siblings, Mary June Leibacher, John Henry Leibacher, Elaine Maillard, James Leibacher, and his twin, Judith Bechtel.
At his request, cremation will take place, and there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Memorial contribu-tions may be made to Erie County Humane Society, Cancer Services of Erie County, or Hospice of the Western Reserve.
