Jin Ju "Bernadette" Mah-Kim, 77, of Sandusky, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024, peacefully at home.
She was born Jan. 7, 1947, in Seoul, Korea. She graduated from Sacred Heart Women's College in Korea with a degree in home economics and worked there as an assistant professor until she married Chong Hoon Mah in 1970. They moved to the U.S. in 1975 with their two children, Agnes and Peter. Chong Hoon Mah suddenly passed away in Toledo in 1994. She remarried Gwang Kim in 2001 and has since lived in Sandusky. She was a faithful Catholic all of her life.
Jin Ju was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Gwang Kim; daughter, Agnes (Yunjin) Hong, and their children, Wony and Kate, all of Chicago; son, Peter (Lisa) Mah, and their children, Theo and Charlotte, all of Chicago; stepdaughter, Karen of Austin, Texas; and stepson, David (Ju), and their children, Morgan and Sydney, all of Hawaii.
A small, private family Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Burial will be at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania.
Those wishing to contribute to Jin Ju's memory may do so to St. Mary's Catholic Church or American Cancer Society.
Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements.

Dr Kim, we are very sorry for your loss. Words cannot adequately express the depths of your loss. We remember seeing you at church with your wife. We remember you as a good physician who always brought an intelligent, calming approach to the most difficult situations. May God be with you at this difficult time.
