Jo Davis Obituary

Jo Dee Davis

Apr 24, 1955 - Jan 7, 2026

Sandusky

Jo Dee Davis, born April 24, 1955, in Sandusky, peacefully departed this life Wednesday, January 7, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of her loving family and friends. A woman of rare and radiant spirit, Jo Dee was a beautiful soul who deeply touched anyone fortunate enough to know her.

She graduated from Providence Hospital School of Nursing, May 11, 1991, while raising her four children. Devotedly worked as a nurse for the majority of her life, retiring from The Meadows at Osbourne Park, where she was cherished by her patients and colleagues. Jo Dee was a talented pianist and songstress who found peace in the pages of a good book, a swim, and, most of all, in spending time with those she loved. She was a truly genuine and caring woman with a heart of gold, a constant source of love and generosity to all those around her.

Jo Dee is survived by her beloved mother, Dee (Richard) Cearfoss; her older brother, Toby (Roberta) Notestine and her younger sisters, Doe Dee (Dave) Zielske and Hei Dee (Gary) Violette. Her memory lives on through her children, Jeremiah (Margaret) Davis, Bethany (Dave) Davis, and James Davis; her grandchildren, Kayleigh (Bryce) Holliday-Davis, Jaydyn Davis, Clara Davis, Alyssa Davis, Parker Sanders, Loralie Sanders, Avaline Davis, Gideon Davis, and Roger Davis; and her great-grandchildren, Bryson Gibbs, Ryliegh Gibbs, and Iyla Gibbs; in addition to her treasured nieces and nephews.

Jo Dee is preceded in death by her father, Roger Notestine; her beloved son, Patrick Davis; and the father of her children and good friend, John Davis.

Though her presence is gone from our sight, her love will remain an eternal echo in our hearts. We release her into everlasting peace, carrying the beauty of her spirit in every memory and every moment, held forever by the strength of her undying love.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Inurnment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
