John George Bostater Jr., 69, residing in Milan, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025, at home peacefully in his sleep.
John was born May 25, 1956, in Sandusky, to the late John and Lorene (Borsick) Bostater Sr.
John graduated from Edison High School in 1975. He worked for many years as a furniture framer. John was a member of Berlin Conservation Club and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing and watching football.
John is survived by his daughter, Jillian (Bryan) Bowne; five grandchildren, Malachi Bowne, Jeremy Bowne, Tyler Bowne, Samantha Bowne, and Alex Bostater; his sister, Susan (Terry) Ross; his nephews, Shawn (Emily) Tordi and their son, Dominic Tordi; and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Bostater and two sisters, Kathy Westcott and Patty Jo Bostater.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2025, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory - Milan Chapel, 1 S. Main Street, Milan.

Rest in Peace bro. I grew up living two houses down from Bo. I still have memories riding his tandem bike to Nickle Plate beach with a transitor radio tied to the handle bars and a thermas of cool aid and singing to CKLW. John and I seemed to always be getting into good trouble I call it. One Easter Sunday while dressed in are Sunday best we had a paint fight, boy did we get spanked and years later still laughed about that incident. I moved away but could always count on him looking over my Moms house and shall miss pulling in and visiting with Bo, he always greeted me with a smile and a toke. I miss you Bo, Thanks for being a true Friend John, Michael P

Met John topping corn at Schlessman seeds in high school many years ago, then playing dartball. A lot of memories and laughs with him, RIP John.
