John K. "Jack" Conley, 82, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully late Saturday morning, Jan. 20, 2024, at his home.
He was born Sept. 29, 1941, in Sandusky, the son of William and Dorothy (Cann) Conley. He was a 1959 graduate of St. Mary's High School. Jack was a veteran, having served honorably in U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was with Medial Mutual Insurance as a sales rep. for over 20 years before retiring. Prior to that, he was a Sandusky police officer for a short time and later went on to be the store manager at Mr. Wiggs for several years, before joining Medial Mutual Insurance.
Jack was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, American Legion Post # 83 (life member), and A.M.V.E.T.S. Post # 17 (life member).
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Lynne Conley of Sandusky; son, Christopher John (Jodi) Conley of Castalia; three grandchildren, Amber (Tod) Allen, Caitlin Conley, and Courtney (Demetrios) Kiriopoulos; four great-grandchildren, Catherine, Reilyn, Olivia, and Alexandra "AJ"; two brothers, Dennis and Richard Conley; and nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 45 years, Alice J. (Naufel) "Honeygirl" Conley on July 25, 2009; sister, Peggy Aceto; and brother, William L. Conley.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, until the time of funeral liturgy outside of Mass at 11 a.m. at David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Deacon Jeffrey Claar will officiate. Burial will be at Castalia Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870.
