John Myers, 85, of Berlin Heights, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023, at The Meadows at Osborn Park.
He was born Aug. 26, 1937, in Greenwich, to Josephine Williams.
He graduated from Milan High School. He was a veteran of U.S. Army. He married Tonya (Sherer) in 1962. He was employed at Ford Motor Co. for 38 years. John was a member of Norwalk VFW Post 2743 and Farm Bureau. John loved taking care of his farm and home along with his wife. Together, they raised a lot of money for 4-H by starting the Annual Chicken Barbeque Fund Raising Raffle, which is now in its 42nd year. In his spare time, he enjoyed tending his pond as well as taking care of all of Tonya's stray animals.
John is survived by his grandchildren, Jessica (Chris) Brink and Jason Myers; three great-grandchildren; sister, Charlotte Resor; nephews, Rowdy (Jennifer) Sherer, Randy (Tanya) Sherer, Roddy (Joan) Sherer, Rock (Amy) Sherer, and Rory (Juana) Sherer; nieces, Marla Sherer and Susan Miller; and other numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
John was preceded in death by his mother; wife, Tonya (Sherer) Myers in 2022; son, Jamie Myers; nephew, Rip Sherer; and 11 siblings.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023, and 10-11 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Toft Funeral Home, Hinman Chapel, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights. John's funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Chaplain Mel Sayler presiding. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
Those wishing to contribute to John 's memory may do so to The Meadows of Osborn Park, Activities Department, Huron.

Sorry to hear of uncle John´s passing. We have been traveling and have lost touch with him and aunt Toni. Was shocked to hear of her passing. I have a lot of fond memories of them. My dad Kenny and him were always into something.
