Joseph Majoy Obituary

Joseph L. Boogs Majoy

Jan 25, 1934 - Apr 23, 2025

Huron

Joseph "Boogs" Majoy passed away peacefully at his home in Huron Wednesday, April 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 25, 1934.

Boogs is survived by his devoted wife of 71 years, Bonnie Majoy; his children, Dan (Elaine), Brad (Liane), Greg (Kim), and Kim Rogers (John); 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Mavis Triana (Frank), Patti Blodgett (Paul), Dominic "Tike" (Agnes), Kenny, George "Dan," and Richard Majoy (Dana).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic "Macioce" Majoy and Ada Majoy-Hoilman (Clements); and his siblings, Thelma Teague, Ray Majoy (Sally), Wayne "Turk" Majoy (Betsy), Helen Keegan, and Anna Hardy.

Boogs began his career in law enforcement, later owned and operated a local bar, and enjoyed a long and successful career at Ford Motor Company. He was a lifelong member and "Golden Eagle" of Huron Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E.).

An avid golfer, outstanding softball pitcher, and passionate sports enthusiast, Boogs spent much of his time on the golf course, at the Eagles, or in his garage welcoming friends and family. There, he shared laughs, worked on snowmobiles and cars, and enjoyed the occasional beer or two. He loved vacationing with family and friends at the cabin in Pennsylvania and was well known for his mischievous streak and a sense of humor that led to countless practical jokes and memories full of laughter.

Boogs was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He proudly attended countless sporting events for his children and grandchildren and endured many dance performances lovingly choreographed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was also a faithful member and usher at St. Peter's Parish in Huron.

Joseph "Boogs" Majoy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2025, at Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main St., Huron.
