He worked in sales at O.E. Meyer Company for 43 years, retiring in 2001. Joe later went on to work for Tuffman Equipment and Supply, Norwalk, for over 10 years, retiring again in 2017. Also in his earlier days, Joe was a part-time Perkins Twp. police officer. Over the years, he enjoyed, boating, camping, vacationing in Ft. Myers, Florida, golfing, and bowling. He was a member of Elks League. But his family will truly remember him for how his favorite thing to do was spend time with them and telling them to "have a seat ... what's your hurry."

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Kareen E. (Popke) Voight whom he married July 28, 1962; two daughters, Krystan (Kevin) Bauer of Sandusky and Michele (John) Post of Huron; son, John (Deborah) Voight of Sandusky; four grandchildren, Natalie (Brad) Petracca, Morgan Bauer, Michael Post, and Jamie (Michael) Walton-Ebert; and seven great-grandsons.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents.

It was his wish to be cremated.

Joe was a part of my childhood...living around the corner and attending Elks picnics/events. I enjoyed lately seeing him at Sam's club where he would joke around. Karen and Joe were such a fun caring couple. Thank you to the whole family for being a part of my life!
