Juanita Duncan, 81, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024, at Stein Hospice Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born April 30, 1943, in Ironton, to Columbus and Enos (Collins) Gillman.

She was employed at Epic Technologies for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, playing BINGO, and watching her favorite baseball team, the Cleveland Guardians.

Juanita is survived by her daughters, Crystal Duncan and Kathy "Kat" Getts, both of Sandusky; grandchildren, Tiffany Getts, Kurtis Poole, Kierra Shabazz, Justin Shabazz, Joshua Shabazz, and Aaliyah Durah; great-grandchildren, Tianari Simmons, Tiazia Hopkins, Correon Martin, Ka'Tana Poole, Ja'Syre Poole, Kayemoni Poole, Phoenix Poole, Myles Poole, Ka'Tazia Porter, and Ka'Taziyonna Porter; great-great-grandchildren, Taiya Green, Karielle Brown, Kalianna Brown, Kae'Nylah Withers, and KaMoriyae Porter; siblings, Doris Garton, Lulla Knerr, Dennis Gillman, Tom Gillman, and Charles Gillman; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and Dawn Casalinova, whom she considered her granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Duncan; siblings, Wanda Bruce, Gladys Bugara, Della Boyer, Robert Gillman, and Richard Gillman; and special nephew, Jerry "Doc" Gillman.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Milan Cemetery.
