Juanita L. Karbler, 95, of Vickery, passed away Saturday morning, July 5, 2025, at Providence Care Center, Sandusky.

She was born March 11, 1930, in Cleveland. She moved to Texas and Nebraska, where she attended school in a one-room schoolhouse and rode a horse to school. She worked for room and board so that she could graduate from North Loop High School in Nebraska in 1948. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sandusky, and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church Couples Clubs. She worked multiple jobs over her lifetime, including a waitress at Rockwell Springs Trout Club and a switchboard operator at Ohio Bell. Juanita was a member of Townsend Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and Vickery Card Club, which, during COVID times, they moved the game down to The Cove in Whites Landing. She enjoyed knitting scarves and hats for Help Mates of Sandusky.

She is survived by two sons, Larry (Cathy) Bales and Roger Bales; three stepdaughters Linda Grahl, Lois (Dan) Whyde, and Lana Wollenslegel; stepson, Larry Karbler; four grandchildren, Leslie, Jim, Beth, and Julia; five stepgrandchildren, Brooke, Billy, Andy, Tracee, and Tad; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Juanita was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Bales; second husband, William Karbler; grandsons, Trent Wollenslegel and Robert Bates; in-laws, Jeff Grahl, Barbara Karbler, and Allen Wollenslegel; parents, Robert and Julia (Smith) Ruff; sister, Patricia Turek; and brother, Ted Lenker; and stepdad, Jack Lenker.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Burial will be at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, Castalia, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Back to the Wild, Stein Hospice Services, St. Mary's Catholic Church, or one's favorite charity.
