Judi Broughton Obituary

Judi S. "Kitten" Broughton

Oct 19, 1946 - Mar 22, 2023

Sandusky

Judi S. "Kitten" Broughton, 76, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly late Wednesday evening, March 22, 2023, at MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland.

She was born Oct. 19, 1946, in Sandusky, the daughter of Clarence and Easter (Willis) Walters. Judi was a 1964 graduate of Perkins High School. For a few years, she owned and operated, with her husband, Bob, "Simply U" and also for many years, she managed Barnum and Sally Beauty Supply, before retiring in 2006.

Over the years, Judi enjoyed spending time with her family and cat, "Sophie," cooking, gardening, and going shopping even if it be online, but she will be especially remembered by her family for her love of the outdoors, how she enjoyed watching the birds and the squirrels from her backyard, and just the comfort she found taking in the sounds of nature around her.

Judi is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert L. "Bob" Broughton, whom she married Dec. 4, 1965; daughter, Wendy Fox of Sandusky; son, Jason (Heather) Broughton of Sandusky; four grandchildren, Chelsea Fox, Brandon (Meghan) Fox, and Lexis and Tara Broughton; great-granddaughter, Natalie Fox; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, and 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2023, until the time of Judi's funeral at 11 a.m. at Victory Temple Church (Legacy), 1619 W. Strub Road, Sandusky. The Rev. D.L. Walters will officiate. Burial will be at Bloomingville Cemetery, Sandusky.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Victory Temple Church, P.O. Box 2593, Sandusky, Ohio, 44871, VictoryTempleInc.net.
