Karen Hand, 63, of Castalia passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 10, 2022, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept. 11, 1959, in Sandusky, and was a 1977 graduate of Sandusky High School. She received her LPN license at EHOVE Nursing School. She worked as an LPN at Providence Care Center. She also worked at the former Cedar Villa, Margaritaville, and as a host for Berardi's Restaurant. Karen enjoyed camping, socializing with friends, and was a season ticket holder of her beloved Cleveland Browns. Anyone who knew Karen will forever remember the smile she wore on her face and her unique hat collection.
She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 30 years, Kevin Hand, whom she married in 1992; parents, Pearl and Kathleen (Richie) Lewis of Sandusky; two sisters, Kimmi Ryan of Loris, South Carolina, and Christine Dietrich of Sandusky; and nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William "Bill" Lewis.
Friends may call 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, until the time of Karen's funeral at 7 p.m. at Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Chaplain David T. Clarke from Stein Hospice will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870.
