Katherine A. Kessler, 81, Vickery, died Thursday morning, January 1, 2026, at ProMedica Memorial Hospital, Fremont.

She was born September 8, 1944, in Monroeville and was a 1962 graduate of Margaretta High School. She was employed by Oscar Meyers for many years.

Katie is survived by her daughter, Deb {Tom) Sengstock; her son-in-law, Chris Swain; grandchildren, Joshua (Danielle) Sengstock, Justin (Sheena) Sengstock,

Elizabeth (James) Lesher, Thomas Gowitzka, and Casey (Krista Leber) Gowitzka; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Cole, Gage, Adelynn, Kaylee, Blake, Kyden, Serenity, and Elijah; sister, Wendy (Joe) Petrick; brothers, Ronney (Sue) Griffin, Rich (Rosemary) Griffin; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kessler in 2008; daughters, Laure Swain and Tina Kessler; parents, Bryan and Laurel (Keller) Griffin; sisters, Earlene Jacobs, Joanne Brown, Marge Gowitzka, Carol Routson, Brenda Smith, and Noreen Griffin in infancy; brothers, Otto, Louis, Marvin, Daniel, Billy, and Paul Griffin in infancy.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. Tuesday until time of services at 1 p.m. at Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. The Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate, and burial will be at Venice Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice, 907 W. State St., Fremont, OH 43420.
