Kathleen M. "Kathe" Henley, 69, residing in Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at her home with her husband by her side following a courageous battle with cancer.
Many hearts were broken with the loss of an exceptional wife, mom, nana, aunt, and friend.
Kathe was born Sept. 29, 1953, in Norwalk, to Anthony and Marie (Zakan) Aiello.
She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1971. Following graduation, Kathe worked for Columbia Gas as an Operations Clerk for 23 years. She volunteered at Victory Kitchen for 10 years where she impacted many lives. Kathe enjoyed gardening, crafts, and spending time with her family, friends, and most especially, her treasured grandchildren.
Kathe is survived by her husband of 26 years, Tom R. Henley, whom she married Oct. 28, 1996; son, Zach (Catherina) Richards of Raleigh, North Carolina; daughter, Marie (Kyle) Rohl of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; grandchildren, Zane and Ethan Richards, and Henley Rohl; brother, John Aiello of Sandusky; and in-laws, nieces, nephews, several close cousins, friends, and her extended family at Victory Kitchen.
Kathe was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Marie (Zakan) Aiello; and sister, Toni Lee Brutsche.
A gathering with family and friends will be 1 p.m. Sunday, April 16, 2023, until a celebration of Kathe's life at 3 p.m., led by Pastor Luke Walters at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky.

So very sorry. I adored Kathe, I am glad I met her although I wish the circumstances were different. I hope I was able to make her smile even for a moment. Prayers to your family at this difficult time.

My friend. We were supposed to grow old together. We did grow old (ish) and had lots of good times, but there was a lot more to do. I will miss you.
