Kenneth Edinger Obituary

Kenneth E. Edinger Jr.

Mar 12, 1943 - Apr 17, 2023

Gulfport, Fl

Kenneth Edinger Jr., 80, of Gulfport, Florida, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023, at home.

Kenneth was born in Toledo and lived the majority of his life in Sandusky until retirement when he and his wife of almost 59 years, Judy, moved to Florida to enjoy the life in the sun.

Kenneth had a love for fishing on Lake Erie and bowling where he accomplished the ultimate "300" a couple of times over the years. Kenneth was a long-time 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus. Kenneth also had a love for his family and you would always see him at his kids and grandkids sporting events. He would never miss a game or family event. Kenneth never failed to remind everyone in our family how much he loved us all.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Judy Edinger; daughter, Deb Mavity; son, Greg (Mary Ellen) Edinger; sister, Janet (Jim) Heckel; grandchildren, Taryn, Alyssa, Johnny, Jorden, and Julia; and six great-grandchildren.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Sr. and Lillian Edinger; and brother, Louie Edinger.

A small memorial and gathering will take place in June in Sandusky.

Any memorials may be made in Kenneth's name to his favorite charities, St. Jude Foundation or Ronald McDonald House.

I have fond thoughts of the MAN, which my brothers and I called Mr. "E" while we were growing up in Sandusky. Mr. "E" had left a very important imprint on my life that I still carry today.
It was a short 3 in a half years in the late 70s to the 80s that our family were neighbors with the Edingers but the memories shall live on forever. From New Years to Christmas and every holiday, birthday and cook outs in between our families were always together it seemed.
Memories of late nights on the back dock during the summers while watching the tail lights of cars going home from Cedar Point, to fishing on the boat on early weekend mornings. So many special memories that our family shared with Mr. "E" during that time that I could go on forever.
I am sad to hear of the loss of the MAN, I called Mr. "E", but as for my dad, Ken was the best friend that my dad had ever known in that short time. It brings me some solace to know that after all these years that my dad will greet his friend again.
God Bless to Mrs. "E", Debbie, Greg, and the rest of their families.

My thoughts and prayers go to Ken's family. I worked for Ken at Cook's Department Store, and I have good memories of those times.

What can I say. Ken was one of a kind. I worked with Ken for 10 years at Cook United (Ontario) he had such a great sense of humor so you never knew if you were in trouble or if he was just messing with you. He taught me the basics of how to be a responsible and productive employee for sure. Many many years later I got the pleasure of working with Judy in Cash Control at Cedar Point. We became very good team partners because we could fly through that money. Lol we were good girl ! My biggest regret is when me moved to Florida we didn´t make the time to come and visit.
Ken loved his family more than words can express. Judy, I pray God will comfort you and the family during this difficult time. We were all blessed being part of Ken´s life. Hugs to you all.

Ken was one of a kind. I worked with him for 10 years at Cook United(Ontario). He Had such a good sense of humor so you never knew if you were in trouble or he was joking with you. It was a my first job and he sure helped me learn what it meant to be a responsible and productive employee. Many years later I got the privilege to work with Judy at cash control at Cedar Point. Judy and I became good partners counting money very fast and we had lots of fun doing it. Judy, I pray that God gives you and your family comfort during this time. My biggest regret was moving to Florida and not taking the time to come visit you both. Ken loved his family beyond words and we were all blessed to have shared our lives with him. Hugs to all of you!
