Kenneth George "Ken" Fick, 93, of Castalia, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, at Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.

He was born July 10, 1930, in Port Clinton, the first child of George F. and Loretta (Schroeder) Fick. He married Gwendolyn Stafford of Oak Harbor on Aug. 27, 1950.

Ken worked for Matthews Boat Company, Port Clinton, for 29 years and then for Danbury Township Trustees for 15 years until retirement. He served in U.S. Air Force from 1954-1958 and was discharged with the rank of Airman First Class.

He was a member of Marblehead Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad from 1963-1980, where he was instrumental in creating an annual children's Christmas party. Ken belonged to various outdoor clubs during his lifetime and raced Go-Karts across the Midwest for a few years. He also had membership in American Legion Post 555.

Ken is survived by his son, Dean (Karen) of Manassas, Virginia; sister, Joan (James) Mason of Port Clinton; grandson and granddaughter, Logan and Hannah Fick; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James; and wife.

Services will be announced at a later date with private burial at Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township.

Memorials may be made to Danbury Township Fire Department or charity of one's choosing.
