Kenneth R. "Ken" Ries, 78, of Bellevue, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic.
He was born Aug. 19, 1944, in Bellevue, the son of Carl F. and Betty (Wobser) Ries.
Ken was a 1962 graduate of Bellevue High School. After graduation, he served in U.S. Army from 1965-1971. Ken was a retired contractor and member of Iron Workers Local 55 Union. Ken loved animals, especially dogs and was an avid horseshoe and dart ball player.
He is survived by his brother, Tom (Rhonda) Ries of Bellevue; sister, Shirley Dick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Fred Ries; and brother-in-law, Jerry Dick.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Ken's funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2023, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 209 Southwest Street, Bellevue. Burial with military honors will follow at Lyme Grange Cemetery.
