Kenneth G. Steffenhagen Jr., 70, of Castalia, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026, at his home after a lengthy illness.

He was born June 8, 1955, in Sandusky, to Kenneth and Geraldine "Gerry" (Butts) Steffenhagen.

Kenneth attended Sandusky City Schools and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1973. He was employed at GM for 35 years as a setup man. He was a member of Sandusky Eagles, V.F.W., and U.A.W. In his spare time, he coached alongside his father for Markley's team in AMVETS Little League. He was an avid golfer and an avid Michigan and Cleveland sports fan. He also loved to play poker with his friends. Most of all, he cherished Sunday family dinners.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Catherine, whom he married December 2, 1977; children, Kelly (Bob Simpson) Steffenhagen and Josh (Suzanne) Steffenhagen; grandchildren, Bailey (Keaton), Kent, Billy, Logan, and Kendra; mother, Geraldine "Gerry" Steffenhagen; siblings, Kevin, Kathy Jo, and Karol; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father in 2019.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Memorial services will begin at 1 p.m. A celebration of Ken's life will be at Cold Creek at a later date.
