Kevin Lee McVetta, 71, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday afternoon, Aug. 1, 2024, at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
He was born July 14, 1953, in Sandusky, to Clifford and Wilma (Smith) McVetta, who preceded him in death.
Kevin graduated from Perkins High School in 1973. He retired from his family's restaurant in Sandusky, the T Drive-In. Kevin was a member of Eagles Clubs in Huron and Sandusky, Masonic Temple Science Lodge No. 50 F & A M, and Singara Grotto. In his spare time, he enjoyed music, especially Jimmy Buffet, and singing karaoke. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends and his Labrador retriever, Midnight.
Kevin is survived by his brother, Dr. Rod McVetta of Sandusky; sister, Deanna (David) Ridenour of Sandusky; two nieces, Shannon (Mark) Blevins and Shayri Lawson, both of Sandusky; one great-niece; three great-nephews; one great-great-niece; and one great-great-nephew.
Visitation for friends will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, until the time of Kevin's masonic services and funeral at 11 a.m. at Meadow Green Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2602 Bogart Rd., Huron, Ohio, 44839. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, Sandusky, is assisting family with arrangements.

Kevin was such a beautiful soul. He had such a kind heart. He kept his folk´s home in immaculate shape and always enjoyed living on Galloway Rd. My husband helped him with many tasks at the house and Kevin always had a fun time and always enjoyed our young daughter visiting as well. One of Kevin´s most enjoyable times was when he went cruising and ALWAYS listening to or attending Jimmy Buffet concerts! I always think of Kevin when I see the coconut pattie candies; that was a treat he always came home with from his cruises! He loved visiting with friends and I am so glad he was able to attend the Perkins High School 50th Reunion last year! Class of 1973! Rest in Peace my Friend!

Kevin was always singing karaoke with Johnny on Friday nights and dancing in the day. He always greeted everyone and had a smile on his face. RIP Kevin.
