Larry Carl Dubbert

Jun 19, 1940 - Dec 12, 2025

Larry Carl Dubbert passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Friday, December 12, 2025. He was born June 19, 1940, in Port Clinton, the son of William and Hilda (Hontz) Dubbert. He spent his life rooted in the Port Clinton community he loved.

Larry was united in marriage to Della Ann (Bodi) Dubbert of Port Clinton, with whom he shared 65 wonderful years of marriage.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hilda Dubbert; siblings, Mildred Kline, William "Bill" Dubbert, Frederick R. Dubbert Sr., and Bernard W. Dubbert; half brother Gaylord Dubbert; and half sister, Chrystal Ila.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife, Della Ann; his five children, James (Dawn) Dubbert, Mark (Laurie) Dubbert, Rebecca (Glenn) Hall, Julie (Chris) Madsen, and Sherry (Adam) Lentz; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Helen Dubbert; lifelong friends, Bob and Janet; and his beloved cat, Beanie.

Larry was a proud veteran who served honorably in the United States Army. During his military career, he was stationed in South Korea, Fort Hood, Texas, and Hanau, Germany, and completed his service in Death Valley, California.

Following his military service, Larry worked as a truck driver for Yellow Freight for 17 years, then for Murray Trucking, and later became an owner-operator for several years, earning the nicknames "Rough Rider" & "Iceman." He concluded his professional career with South Shore Trucking. Larry and his wife were also the owners of Edgewater Cottages in Port Clinton.

Larry was a true family man who dearly loved his family and cherished time spent at home with them. Known for his sense of humor, he was a natural jokester who brought laughter to those around him.

Larry was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Port Clinton.

A celebration of Larry's life will be on his birthday in June 2026.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to local Ohio Veterans organizations in Larry's name.
