Laurel Bell, 72, residing in Sandusky, passed away Monday morning, April 1, 2024, at home surrounded by loved ones after a lengthy fight with cancer.

Laurel was born Nov. 17, 1951, in Trenton, New Jersey, to William and Barbara (Rogers) Dean Sr.

Laurel was employed as a registered nurse for many years and then owned and was a fitness instructor at Laurie's Aerobics. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling and wintering in Florida, cooking with her granddaughter Emma, and volunteering at the local nursing homes teaching quilting, but most of all, spending time with her family and friends.

Laurel is survived by her husband, Ronald C. Bell Sr., whom she married Feb. 10, 1973; daughters, Amy Bell of Cincinnati and Heather (Adam) Stenger of Sandusky; son, Ronald C. Bell Jr. of Huron; grandchildren, Caden, Aaron, Colton, Emma, and Connor; brother and sister-in-law, Daryl G. and Beth Bell of Columbus, New Jersey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Janice Dean; brother, William Dean Jr.; and nephew, William Dean III.

Visitation for friends will be 12 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024, until the time of Laurel's celebration of life at 1 p.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, with Pastor Wally Gilbert presiding.
