Leslie Lorcher Obituary

Leslie Bruce Lorcher

May 22, 1940 - Jun 6, 2025

Huron

With sadness, we announce the passing of Leslie (Les) Bruce Lorcher, who passed away peacefully after battling dementia Friday, June 6, 2025, at the age of 85. Born May 22, 1940, and raised in Huron, Ohio, he served his country in the Marine Corps for 12 years included Load Master on a C-130 Hercules during Vietnam War, Marine Rifleman, Aircraft Weapons and Electrical Tech, Avionics Maintenance Chief, and Recruiter. He proudly retired as Master Sergeant in 1980.

Les had three children with his first wife, Nancy (Whyde) McMaster; Mark D. Lorcher, Michael B. [Nancy] Lorcher, and Michele L. (Lorcher-Teasel) [Michael] Ziemke. He has four grandchildren, Janna (Teasel) [Omar] Rammuny, Alison (Ziemke) [Joseph] Kleibscheidel, Amanda (Teasel) [Jeffery] Grob, and David Teasel, and is blessed with 13 great-grandchildren.

He has two surviving siblings, Jeanine (Lorcher) Williams-Meyers and Marianne Lorcher. Les also has siblings from his father's second marriage, Matthew [Maria] Lorcher, John Lorcher, Steven Lorcher [Susan Bond], Joseph Lorcher [Kim Coey], Jacky [late Fred] Donnell, and Shawn Lorcher. Les also has stepsiblings, Michael Sheppard, Patricia Stewart, and Shirley Przemielewski.

He is preceded in death by his second wife, Helene (Bulewski) Lorcher who is deeply missed; and his third wife, Helen (Neugebauer) Lorcher, of whom he has three surviving stepgrandchildren, Joey Perez, Matthew Wathen, and Zena Defresne. Les is also preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude (Mapus) [Patrick] McCafferty; his father, Philip G. Lorcher; and brother, Philip H. Lorcher; and stepsister Cynthia Sheppard Seitz.

After serving in the military, Les made Rio Rancho, New Mexico, home for over 40 years, soaking in sunshine and playing golf all year long. He enjoyed a good cigar, gardening, rooting for the Cleveland Browns, and making chili that was almost too spicy to eat.

The family would also like to recognize his wonderful and supportive friends who became like family, Lydia and Mike Daly and Debbie and Steve Tafoya.

A special thank you to Morning Star Memory Care in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and Commons of Providence Memory Care in Sandusky, Ohio, who are really angels disguised as nurses, aids, and administrators.

A military funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Scott Cemetery, with a family luncheon at Bar North immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, the family would deeply appreciate donations made to K9's For Veterans.

Foster Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
