I did not know Lois but I have met a some of her children and become friends with her son John. If John is any indication of her parenting skills, she was a good Mom. The obituary paints a wonderful picture of a life well lived. The community will miss her and remember her fondly.

My heart is breaking at the news of Aunt Lois´s passing. She was the most compassionate, caring person I had the privilege to know and grow up with. The Hug home was an open door and we were always welcome and stayed there often. Her infectious laughter will remain with us always.
Deepest condolences to the entire family. She will truly be missed!

I met Lois while working at The Commons. During her very first week she was in the dining room and needed something. She called "Hey...you". I turned and she motioned for me to come to her. She apologized and said she was new and didn't know everyone's name yet. We introduced ourselves. From that moment ON...we'd greet each other by (another name). Hi "Betty". Hi "Sally". The next day Hi "Annie". Hi "Martha", etc. That was our thing. She and I would talk about books and reading. She had an abundance of books and would recommend many, which I did read and then we'd discuss. She was a sweet and ohhhhh so funny lady. She always had the little mini candy bars and insisted I take "some" (never one---SOME) :) Lois? Betty Jean? Donna? Esther? You will truly be missed by Connie, Kathy, Patty...but most of by "Sandra". Rest in peace my friend.
