Lois Ann (Gunnoe) Lawrence, 80, residing in Sandusky, passed away Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.

Lois Ann was born July 23, 1943, in Hinton, West Virginia, to Burton and Virginia (Michael) Gunnoe.

Lois Ann graduated from Peterstown High School in 1961. She attended Concord College in Athens, West Virginia. She married Donald G. Lawrence on Jan. 18, 1980. She was employed at Cedar Point for over 35 years in the Planning and Design department. She was an avid reader, gardener, Ohio sports fan, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She attended Huron United Methodist Church.

Lois Ann is survived by her son, Joseph (Toni) Hess III of Milan; stepdaughter, Debra Failor of Greenville, South Carolina; stepson, David A. Lawrence of Sandusky; grandchildren, Jessica and Nicole Hess, Chad and Amanda Lawrence, and Christine (Roy) Moses; several great-grandchildren; sister, Sue "Susie" (Keith) Wykle of Georgia; boyfriend, Jim Colvin Sr. of Bellevue; nieces, Sara and Amanda of Georgia; and several other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald G. Lawrence in 2014; and stepgrandchild, Daniel Lawrence in 2021.

Visitation for friends will be 12 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, until the time of Lois Ann's funeral at 2 p.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Pastor Pamela Sayre will preside. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.

We just heard this sad news. i loved and appreciated her friendship. We met when I was working in the printshop at Cedar Point. She is dearly missed.

Lois and I worked at planning and design for over 30 years. She was a good friend and always had a smile on her face. She will be missed, she cared about me and my family and always asked how we were doing. Loved her.
