Lorenzo Hood, 77, of Sandusky, went into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, Wednesday, October 1, 2025, after a lengthy illness. He was born September 17, 1948, in Cleveland. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo Hood Sr. and Sadie Stratford Hood; grandsons, Daniel Aaron and Troy (TJ) Aaron Jr.; and adopted granddaughter, Emily Cooley.

He is survived by his loving and faithful wife, of 35 years, Sandra "Sandy" Yandell-Hood, whom he married February 27, 2007, in Las Vegas, Nevada; three daughters, Lisa Hood Aaron (Troy), Lori Hood Reed(Marvin), and Time Darden; stepson, Clay Schilling (Lori); siblings, Carolyn Hood Kourdache (Mousa), Gregory Hood (Rebecca ), Celestine Hood Phillips (Grady), Dr. Sylvia Hood Washington (Gary), Lawrence Hood (Angela), Myron Hood, and Maria Hood Foxhall (John); grandchildren, Nicholas B. Schilling and Skye G. Schilling; stepgranddaughter, Haley Keegan McGough (Dylan); adopted grandsons, Taylor Cooley and Justin Cooley; stepgreat-grandsons, Grayson McGough and Coloson McGough; stepgreat-grand-daughter, Sienna McGough; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He graduated from Cleveland State University with a BS in Chemistry and from Ashland University with a Master's Degree in Business Administration.

Lorenzo retired from Delphi Automotive, March 1, 2007. He was a senior chemist in materials engineering for 31 years. He developed low-torque grease and created a patent for roller clutch cages used in GM cars, and was awarded the GM President's Award for his Suggestion of Savings. He was an avid golfer, runner, downhill skier, and weightlifter. Dearly loved, he will always be in our hearts.

At the request of the family, there will be no funeral. A private burial will take place at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, Sandusky, is assisting family with arrangements.
