Maria Lilia Cuevas, 83, of Port Clinton, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, with her entire family at her side. She was born Jan. 24, 1941, in Mission, Texas to Guadalupe and Josefina (Garcia) Chapa, Sr. She married Roque "Rocky" Cuevas Feb. 28, 1960, and he survives.

Maria was a nurse's aid at Magruder Hospital retiring in 1998. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton. She loved to crochet and make blankets for others. She previously played volleyball and softball in area leagues.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Rocky; children, Lionel Cuevas of Port Clinton, Gloria (Edward) Butterfield of Mentor, Ruben Cuevas of Port Clinton, Delia (John) MacDonald of Sandusky, Margarita (Timothy) Titta of Port Clinton; grandchildren, Chrissy, Jesse, Manny, Nicole, Jessica, Leonardo, Sarah, Samantha, Eli, Mitchell, Miranda, Brennen, Devon, Alivia, Jared, Rachel, Abby and many great-grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings, Jose (Maria Elena) Rodriguez of Mission, Texas, Julia (Lupe)Rodriquez of Wharton, Texas, Cecilia Ochoa of Mission, Texas, and a special friend, Father John Missler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Selena Titta; a great-great-grandson, Xander Cuevas; siblings, Jesse Chapa, Guadalupe Chapa, Jr., and Josefina Chapa.

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2024, at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton.

Her Mass of Christian burial will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison St. Port Clinton, with Father Jonathon Wight officiating. Interment will follow at LaCarpe Cemetery, Erie Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to Selena Titta Scholarship Fund at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
