Mark L. Blair, 65, of Wakeman, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at home, surrounded by those who loved him most.
He was born June 29, 1959, in Elyria, to Charles and Elizabeth (Yunker) Blair.
Mark grew up with an appreciation for the simple joys in life. Tinkering in his garage, there wasn't much he couldn't fix. He was a selfless and dependable man. Mark enjoyed capturing the beauty of life through his camera lens. He lived to make memories with his family, especially while fishing. His family was his heart and soul. He will be remembered for his unshakable love for them. He worked his entire career for ODOT as a transportation manager. Mark was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Wakeman, Wakeman Eagles, a past member of Western Reserve School Board, and served on Carlisle Township Volunteer Fire Department.
Mark is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Kim (Whitacre), whom he married June 12, 1982. He was the loving father to Ryan and Michelle Blair, Ashley Blair, Addison Fisher, and Jason Blair. He was an amazing Papa to Gavin, Savannah, Jack, Bentley, Adalynn, and Kinslee. He is also survived by his siblings, Kurt (Christie) Blair, Marcia (Tommy) Loparo, Charlene Blair, and Laura (Tommy) Blair; devoted in-laws, Jeff (Brenda) Whitacre, Julie Markus, Jennifer Key; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Mark was preceded in death by his sister, Marna Blair; parents, Charles and Elizabeth Blair and Jack and Nancy Whitacre.
Friends may call from 4–7 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Toft Funeral Home, Wakeman Chapel, 16 Cooper St. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 46 E. Main St. (U.S. Route 20), with the Rev. Ron Brickner presiding. Burial will follow at a later date at St. Mary Cemetery.
