Marlene E. (Smith) Robertson, 84, formerly of Sandusky, passed away Monday evening, Sept. 5, 2022, at Gateway Springs Health Campus, Hamilton, Ohio, after a lengthy illness.

Marlene was born Jan. 11, 1938, in Norwalk, the daughter of Charles Frederick and Elizabeth Frances (Kotasek) Smith. She was a 1956 graduate of St. Mary's High School. While living most of her life in Sandusky, she worked as a accounting clerk for Sunbeam and later for Chef Pantry for many years. In 2005, she moved down to be near her daughter, Lisa, in the Cincinnati area where she worked for over 10 years at T. J. Maxx before finally retiring just a few years ago. Over the years, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Marlene attended Tri-County Baptist Church, West Chester, Ohio, for several years where she enjoyed being involved with Sunday School Class at the church called the "Joy" class.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Steve) Johann of Liberty Twp., Ohio; son, William "Robbie" (Sharon) Robertson of Tuttle, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Billy (Christi) Robertson, Becky (Bryan) Carrasco, Mary Beth Robertson, Ashley (Nathan) Anneken, and Alyssa (Terence) Hubbard; three great-grandchildren; brother, Richard " Dick" Smith of Collins; sister-in-law, Judy Smith of Sandusky; and several nieces and nephews.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 43 years, William F. "Bill" Robertson Jr. (2002); sister, Geraldine O. "Jeri" Mischler; three brothers, James F. "Jim," Carl D., and Robert D. "Bob" Smith; and two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth A. "Betty" and Almeta V. "Mimi" Smith.

Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, until the time of Marlene's funeral at 1 p.m. at David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Deacon Jeff Claar will be officiating. Burial will be at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice of Cincinnati, in care of Bethesda Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 633597, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45263-3597.
