Martha Shuff Obituary

Martha Jean West Shuff

Aug 24, 1941 - Dec 1, 2024

Marblehead

Martha Jean West Shuff, 83, of Marblehead, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, following a lengthy seven-year battle with Alzheimer's.

Martha was born Aug. 24, 1941, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati to Frank White and Evelyn (Johnson) West.

Marty graduated from Anderson High School, Cincinnati in 1959. She participated in choral activities in high school and church. She attended the University of Cincinnati while working as a secretary/receptionist.

While volunteering as a junior high youth director at Anderson Methodist in 1961, Marty was introduced to Chuck through mutual friends; after a two-year courtship, they were married June 8, 1963, in Cincinnati and went on to have three children, Donna, Chris, and Chuckie.

Marty was the proud owner of York Classic Design in Marblehead. She loved to design floral arrangements and sell gourmet candy and specialty gifts. After retiring, Marty and Chuck would travel the United States in their RV while spending winters with friends in Florida. Marty enjoyed everything she did, from her jobs; to the flower shops, cooking, baking, making candy, water skiing, riding sea doo, playing games, the beach, the times at Dale Hollow Lake, traveling, and most of all, caring for her family.

She is survived by her husband, Chuck; daughter, Donna (Eric) Helgesen; sons, Chris (Debbie) Shuff and Chuck (Shannon) Shuff; three grandchildren, Corinne (Jacob) Dillabaugh, Devon (Sydney) Shuff and Makayla Peyton; and four great-grandchildren, Reece, Cassie, Josie, Theodore and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.

Marty was preceded in death by her father, Frank; mother, Evelyn; brothers, Harold and Don; in-laws, Walter and Doris Shuff; sister-in-law, Elaine Shuff Dowd; all aunts, uncles and several cousins.

Visitation will be from noon-2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, at Neidecker Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E Harbor Rd. Lakeside Marblehead, Ohio 43440.
