Martha Wright Obituary

Martha J. Wright

Apr 23, 1932 - Feb 9, 2023

Berlin Heights

Martha Jean (Hahn) Wright, 90, of Berlin Heights, passed away peacefully Thursday Feb. 9, 2023, at her home.

She was born April 23, 1932, in Brownhelm Township, and lived in Berlin Heights most of her life. She graduated from Kent State University with a B.A. in Elementary Education. She pursued her passion for education and taught for Western Reserve School District (Hartland and Townsend) for 30 years. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and Hilltop Farm Bureau Council.

Martha is survived by her children, Carla (Sherman) Tweet of Minooka, Illinois, Paula Hartley of Tampa, Florida, and Amy (James) Wright-Jackson, of Louisville, Colorado; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Carl Wright; parents, Edward and Alma (Leimbach) Hahn; children, Bruce Wright, Constance Baatz, and Rebecca Wright; grandson, Joshua Bottiglier; great-granddaughter, Rachel Boyett; and brothers, William Hahn and Charles Hahn.

Friends are invited to join her family in a celebration of her life Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 5 E. Main St., Berlin Heights. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of Martha's funeral at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery and a reception will follow at the church. The family would be honored to listen to your fond memories and stories and to share in laughter together as we all remember Martha.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the scholarship fund at First Congregational United Church of Christ or library at Western Reserve Schools, Wakeman. Martha's passion was to inspire the pursuit of an education and broadening horizons with an extraordinary book to read.

Is this Mrs. Martha Wright from the old Hartland school? If so, I remember her as very kind. So many fun childhood memories from Hartland....I am very grateful for those memories and I will always remember her very fondly. Sending many condolences to those who knew her and loved her.
