Mary Uland Obituary

Mary M. Uland

Oct 23, 1943 - Jan 1, 2024

Sandusky

Mary Marie (Meadows) Uland, 80, born Oct. 23, 1943, in Union, West Virginia, passed away peacefully Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, at home after a massive stroke in late November and suffering further complications.

Up until the end, Mary maintained her strong Christian faith, kindness, humor, and love for her family and friends. Mary's wonderful life was full of love, kindness, and compassion for everyone she met. Everyone who was lucky enough to meet Mary quickly became a friend and she often lent a hand to help others in need. She celebrated life and practiced her faith each and every day. She always had kind words to help make others' days a little brighter. Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother, a great cook, and loved to bake and eat sweets. She traveled a lot and enjoyed many fun adventures with her family. Mary had a fashion sense like no other. She worked as a bank teller at National City Bank (PNC) for over 33 years. Bank customers often came in just to get a peek at what Mary was wearing that day. She was dressed "to the nines" each and every day, right down to the matching jewelry and accessories. Her stylish hair was always impeccably coiffed. Mary left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Amanda (Christopher Overmyer) Uland and Jaime Uland; stepson, Jimmy Uland; sister, Wanda (Bill) Woytek; grandson, Saige (Tia) Crum; great-grandson, Elijah Crum, Harlee, and Jayden; granddaughters, MyaLynn and Ava Randolph; niece, Lisa Theis; nephews, Eric and Jason (Karen) Theis, Bradley (Michelle) Theis, Nicole (John) Bennett; and many other beloved family members by birth and by marriage.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Uland; parents, Robert Meadows and Evelyn O'Farrell; sister, Helen Meadows; and nephews, Mark and Kerry Theis.

Mary was a member of Venice Road Baptist Church, where she found community and lived out her commitment to her devout Christian faith.

Visitation for friends and family will be 3-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Mary's memorial service to celebrate her life and honor her legacy will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, at Venice Road Baptist Church, 3814 Venice Rd., Sandusky. To Mary´s family, I am so sorry to hear this. I worked with Mary at the bank for several years. She was a hoot! And so much fun to be around. I´m sure she will be greatly missed.
