Merrett C. Scheufler, 81, residing in Sandusky, passed away Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023, at Stein Hospital after fighting a battle with cancer.
Merrett was born Jan. 25, 1942, in Sandusky, to Merrett C. Scheufler and Betty Scheufler.
After his retirement from the city of Austen, Georgia, he and his wife moved back to his hometown of Sandusky.
His hobbies were building model cars and ships. He was a very kind soul, loved people, and was also an overcomer of many of life's trials.
Merrett is survived by his wife, Lynnette (Manns), whom he married Aug. 22, 1970, and who was the love of his life; sister-in-law, Shirley Dickman; two cousins, Ronald Scheufler and Nancy (Byington) Stewart; good friend, Brian Krause; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Private services will take place at a later date and time.
