Michael D. Carr, 63, of Bellevue died suddenly after a short battle with cancer Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Cleveland Metro Health Hospital.

He was born Sept. 30, 1959, in Elyria, to Noel and W. Jean (Petty) Carr. Mike graduated from Bellevue High School in 1979. He was a hard worker and self-starter throughout his whole life. He owned and operated Carr's Lawn and Garden Repair from 1986-1992, owned rental properties, and was a former owner of Mt. Pleasant Stor-n-Loc. He worked for 7L Construction throughout his life and returned for the recent years until his retirement. Mike was a dedicated member of Providence Baptist Church, Bellevue.

Mike loved his family and was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. He would drop anything to help a friend or even a stranger. He enjoyed staying busy and was a jack-of-all-trades, fixing things, building things, woodworking, hunting, and four-wheeling. Anything with an engine interested Mike. In addition to his family, his pride and joy was his 1962 Ford Unibody truck that he restored. Another favorite of Mike's was spending time with his family at the cabin in West Virginia.

He married Donna (Edwards) on May 15, 1982, and she survives in Bellevue. Mike is also survived by their children, Stephanie (Matt) Gildenmeister of Bellevue and Brandon (Hayley) Carr of Tiffin; grandchildren, Natalie and Noah; mother, Jean Carr of Bellevue; Donna's parents, Carvie and Ann Edwards of Bellevue; and sister-in-law, Belinda (Scott) Brogan of Bellevue.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Noel Carr; and brother, Joey Carr.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2023, at Auxter Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue. Mike's funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Duffy officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial donations in memory of Mike go to Providence Baptist Church, 1000 Gardner Street, Bellevue.
