Myron E. "Mike" Lucal, Sr., 93, of Sandusky, passed away early Thursday morning, June 16, 2022, at Admiral's Pointe Nursing Home, in Huron, OH.
Born on February 16, 1929, in Sandusky, OH the son of Lester and Bernetta Amelia (Lucal) Sperling. Mike was a 1947 graduate of St. Mary's High School. He had worked as a mechanic for several years at the Scott Paper Company in Sandusky.
Over the years, Mike enjoyed attending car shows and reading car magazines, going out to dinner on Saturday night with friends and sitting out in his garage and enjoying the outdoors. He will be remembered by his family for how he was a big Notre Dame football fan and loved everything about the university and a fan of the Cleveland Indians and the Browns.
Mike was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council # 546.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Justin (his fiancee', Taylor) Fraser of Fremont and Shawna Fraser of Sandusky; his great-grandchildren, Graham, Ella, Brennan, Owen and Camilla; a sister, Joyce A. Hastings of Castalia; and a niece, Diane (Sperling) (Joe) Skiver of Norwalk.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia L. (Morency) Lucal on November 11, 2014; a daughter, Karen Marie Fraser (2014); his son, Myron E. "Mike" Lucal, Jr. (2021); sister, Mary Sperling; and his half brother, Sam Lund.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 4-6 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited Wednesday morning, June 22, 2022, at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Bob Sanson officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
