Myrtle Tucker Obituary

Myrtle Tucker

Jan 30, 1928 - Jan 8, 2024

Bay View

Myrtle Tucker, 95, residing in Bay View, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 30, 1928, in Manchester, Kentucky, to Daniel Boone and Harriet Sibert.

Myrtle retired from Firelands Hospital after 25 years of service.

She was an over 30-year member of Venice Road Baptist Church. Myrtle was a quiet, strong woman who always held her family close. The matriarch of eight children and many grandchildren, she was the heart of her family. Her quiet strength, unwavering love, and her faith in God have always been a constant for her family. Myrtle enjoyed many outdoor activities with gardening being her favorite. Annually, she tended to her flowers and vegetable gardens. She admired the fruits of her labor and the beauty of God.

The family would also like to say thank you to the team at Southern Care Hospice and a special thank you to nurse Katelyn, and Aide Savannah for their kindness.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Michael) Tucker Farmer, Sharon Tucker Lippert, and Rhonda (Larry) Tucker Kimberlin; sons, Gary (Marla Scherz) Tucker and Greg (Cindy Lopez) Tucker; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Kay (Kincaid) Tucker; sons-in-law, Emmett Trapp and John Whyde; 21 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 42 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Ned W. Tucker, to whom she married April 19, 1947; parents; children, James Denver, Donna Trapp, and Margaret Whyde; grandchildren, Jason Tucker, Jennifer Trapp, Charlotte Trapp, Johnny Lopez, Patience Matthews, Kevin Slaughter, and Robin Sharville; sisters, Minerva Smith, Lillie Weaver, Anna Lee Lewis, Mary Finley Smith, and Dollie Sibert; and brothers, Homer Sibert, Howard Sibert, Berton Sibert, T.J. Sibert, and Edward Sibert.

Visitation for family and friends will be 12 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, until the time of Myrtle's funeral at 1 p.m. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow at Castalia Cemetery.
