Neal A. Lindsley

Neal A. Lindsley, 93, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 3, 2023.

He was born March 5, 1930, in Sandusky, the son of J. Ray Lindsley and Alverna (Werner) Lindsley. He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1948 and graduated from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, in 1953. While at O.U., he was elected National President of the Independent Students Association (NISA). He served as a 1st Lieutenant in U.S. Army from 1953-1955 during the Korean War. He was a retired accountant from trucking company Roadway Express of Akron. While living in Cuyahoga Falls, he was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls and Wesley Adult Sunday School Class. He was also associated with Cuyahoga Falls Civic Music Association and Friends of Cuyahoga Falls Library. For many years, he was a volunteer usher at E.J. Thomas Hall and Akron Civic Theatre.

While living in Sandusky from 1958-1963, he was a charter member of Sandusky Bay Kiwanis, member of Firelands Chorus, and member of Trinity Methodist Church of Sandusky. After living many years in Cuyahoga Falls, he moved back to Sandusky in 2017 and was a resident of Parkvue Place with his wife, Mary. During this time, he was a member of First Congregational Church of Sandusky.

Neal is survived by a daughter, Susan Lindsley; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Tom) Martindale, Kathryn, Jacob, and Joshua Novisky, Jeanna (Kyle) Miller, and Rebecca and Garrett Murphy; two great-grandchildren, Rory Miller and Jett Thomas Martindale; sister, Ann (Harry) Wright of Huron; brothers, Ben (Bonnie) Lindsley of Huron and Don (Caron) Lindsley of North Ridgeville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife of 51 years, V. Isabelle (Leasure); and second wife, Mary (Fenker) Lindsley.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2023, until the time of Neal's service at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 245 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls. The Rev. Lenore Kure will officiate. A committal service will be at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
