Paul R. Thornton, 78, of Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Monday, May 22, 2023, at Physicians Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Paul was born Aug. 14, 1944, in Gary, Indiana, to Richard and Janet (Roper) Thornton. Paul married Elaine in Jan., 1968, and throughout the years they lived in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and finally called Naples, Florida their home to retire. Paul had friends near and far, many lifelong friends from places they lived, and destinations they traveled on vacation. To know Paul was to know a good time, typically on a boat, or at their favorite restaurant, or across the table playing cards.
Paul is survived by his sister, Marcia Robson; wife, Elaine; their son, Chris (Kara); and three grandchildren, Erin, Bee, and Riley.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
